STAYING SAFE

Never pay to get hired

A real studio pays you. If a listing asks for money before you have worked a single day, it is not a job — and it does not matter how convincing the studio looks.

The one rule that protects you

Do not send money to get a job. Not a training fee, not a registration charge, not a security deposit, not a kit cost, not a “refundable” anything. No legitimate studio in India charges an artist to be employed.

Red flags

Any one of these is reason to stop and report the listing.

They ask for money, in any form

Training fee, registration, deposit, kit charge, “seat booking”, GST paid upfront. The wording changes; the scam does not.

It is a course pretending to be a job

“Paid apprenticeship” where you pay them. A real apprenticeship is unpaid at worst — never something you buy.

They rush you

“Only two seats left”, “pay today to hold it”. Urgency exists to stop you thinking. A studio that genuinely wants you will wait a day.

They move you off the platform immediately

A studio asking you to WhatsApp before you have discussed the role at all is often trying to leave no record. Talking on WhatsApp later is completely normal — being pushed there first, before anything else, is not.

The pay makes no sense

Far above the going rate for your experience, with no portfolio review and no questions asked. Nobody pays a stranger a premium sight unseen.

You cannot find them anywhere else

No Instagram, no Google listing, no photographs of the studio, no address you can look up. A working studio in India has a visible presence.

They want documents before an interview

Aadhaar, PAN, bank details or a signed agreement before you have even spoken properly. Identity documents belong at the point of employment, not enquiry.

What Tattoo Tech does and does not do

WHAT WE DO

  • Scan every listing for wording associated with fee scams
  • Let anyone report a listing, anonymously
  • Hide a listing automatically once enough people report it
  • Remove listings and ban studios that break the rules
  • Keep a record of every posting and removal

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

  • We do not check listings before they appear. Anyone can post, and a job is live immediately.
  • We do not verify that a studio is real, licensed, or solvent unless it carries a ✓ Verified badge.
  • We do not check pay, hours or conditions are as described.
  • We are not party to anything you agree with a studio.

In plain terms

Tattoo Tech Jobs is a noticeboard. We give studios somewhere to post and artists somewhere to look, and we clean up what we are told about — but a listing appearing here is not an endorsement, and we cannot take responsibility for what happens between you and a studio. Do your own checks before you travel, sign, or hand over anything.

Before you accept anything

Look them up

Search the studio name, check the Instagram, look at the location on Maps. Recent posts, tagged clients and real reviews are hard to fake.

Speak to a human

A call or a video call before you commit. Ask who you would work under, how walk-ins are split, and how many artists are on the floor.

Visit if you can

If it is in your city, go and see it. Fifteen minutes in the room tells you more than a week of messages.

Get the money in writing

Salary or split, when it is paid, who supplies inks and needles, who covers the room. Verbal terms are how people end up working a month for nothing.

Do not relocate on a promise

If you are moving city, get the offer in writing first. Turning up to a studio that has changed its mind is the most expensive version of this mistake.

If something is wrong

Every listing has a Report link. It takes a few seconds, the studio is never told who reported them, and enough reports take the listing down automatically while we look at it.

If you have already lost money, report it here so we can remove them — and file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in, the Government of India's cybercrime portal, or call 1930. Reporting quickly gives you the best chance of getting the money back.
